Many people ask me . . . "I don't¨ feel like we can adopt . . . how can I make a difference for orphans?  They have a sense that unless they adopt a¨ child, they are somehow falling short. ¨NOT true.

Yes . . . adoption is close ¨to the heart of God.  Everyone should ¨consider it.  But in reality, God doesn't¨ call everyone to adopt.  But He does call¨everyone to care for orphans.

Isaiah 1:17 from the Bible says, "Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the¨ cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows."

Defend the cause! ¨Now that is everyone's call.  But¨ doing that is a big thing.  So how do you¨do that?  Where do you start?

In your own heart. ¨It's got to start there.  Once God¨ gets a hold of your heart and you begin seeing orphans like He sees them, you ¨will never be the same.  And the burden¨ of caring for orphans with become a joy.

Below is a simple prayer you can pray.  It's a commitment to God to begin seeing and¨ responding to orphans that way He sees and responds to them.  It's a bold prayer . . . and lived out, it ¨will change your life and the world around you!

A Prayer Commitment to Orphans

"Jesus, help me to hear the cry of the orphans and not ¨turn a blind eye to their needs.  Help me¨to do all I can be their helper.  Give me ¨the wisdom to know how to meet their needs, and the courage to stand up for¨ those who cannot standup for themselves. ¨Help me to become generous in supporting those who support them. I¨ commit to give to them sacrificially, not just out of my excess. Help me to learn to do good, seek justice, help the oppressed,¨defend the cause of orphans, fight for the rights of widows, and to see those who are lonely and to help ¨find them a family.  Jesus, draw the¨ orphans of the world close to you.  Help¨ them know they are not alone.  And help ¨me be Your hands and feet in caring for them. ¨Amen.
